My name is Morgan Jones, I'm from just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Televerde is a business process outsourcer and what we primarily do is we partner with technology companies to help them sell more of their product. Televerde chose Scotland, and Glasgow in particular, after a pretty exhaustive search. One of the big reasons for our success is our values: do the right thing, be curious, innovation - and one of the things we found out when we came to Glasgow, is that they really do embrace these ideals.
Glasgow definitely feels like a European city. In our office alone, we represent 17 different languages and 14 different countries. You get the real flavour of Europe here. It's an entry into Europe that most people don't think about. We're lucky enough to live right on the edge of Kelvingrove Park - it's really one of my favourite parks that I've ever been to. I love Kelvingrove Museum, we love to visit there. You continue to find hidden little treasures there. Every time we go back we find a different corner.
The other side that appeals to me is the golf, of course. You feel like you're really playing 'pure golf'. To walk the courses and think of all the history and everything else that goes with it - it really makes it special.
Scotland is a great place to set up and grow a business, there are many reasons for it, It's a highly-educated population. Glasgow ticked a lot of boxes, it’s a major city, with major transportation hubs - it's easy to get to anywhere from here! It really make sense, with the availability of languages here and a community that really wants to grow. All those things add up to just a really dynamic place.
