I visited Scotland about four years ago over the Christmas holidays after deciding that I wanted to pursue something in the book industry and publishing more specifically I realised that the top program for it was actually here. Everyone's been really kind really friendly there have been a couple of, like, culture things that I'm still learning but overall the last four weeks have been just a dream.
In terms of school it's there's a big kind of sense of community within our program is quite small and also just the feel of the city is just very homey like right away like it's not too overwhelming it's not too big so I appreciate that, like I feel like every week I like check something out online and there's like whether it's like this week is the cocktail festival and like next week there's a cheese festival I feel like there's always something happening in town so it's a good way to stay busy it's a good way to meet people and just kind of explore the different sections of the of the city.
My goal is to hopefully do an internship with a publishing house in the New Year and then hopefully either find a job after I graduate in a year from now or find a job at a one of the parent or sister companies back in North America. My message to anybody thinking of studying in Scotland would be there's such a positive sense of community and there's so many resources to help you settle in that like you'll feel right at home within a few weeks.
