I grew up and studied in Scotland, I developed my career from a graduate level onwards in London and now, as the CEO of Mudano, I'm delighted to be back in Scotland setting up the research & development part of our business. Mudano is a data company that uses artificial intelligence and data science to make better decisions on multi-million pound IT change projects. We chose Edinburgh because there is a real, focused artificial intelligence and tech community growing in the city and that's really supporting each other in terms of driving forward.
The Scottish Government and their support agencies have been instrumental in making our transition easy, fast and high-impact. The great thing about having bases in central Edinburgh and central London is the ease of commuting between the two. I can be in the office in London at 8:30am, having started the day in Edinburgh.
We're very happy with our decision to set up our research and development team and we've been pleasantly surprised at how easy it's been to recruit incredible talent. Having spent the last seven years living in zone 1 in London, being back in Edinburgh and having access to the great outdoors is incredible.
Everywhere you look looks like a postcard, it is an incredibly beautiful city. There seems to be a huge willingness to attract entrepreneurship into Scotland. There is a huge amount of support, there's a community and there's a thriving client base. You can feel the buzz in terms of real belief that we can make a difference in the tech industry.
