Scotland Week, or Tartan Week, will 'pipe up' from April 3-10, 2019. New for this year will be Scottish comedy legend, Sir Billy Connolly, as the NYC Tartan Day Parade Grand Marshal. Over 15 million North Americans will celebrate Scottish theatre, art, music and design.

2019 marks 21 years of the annual Tartan Day Parade in New York, celebrating Scotland Week. Led by Scottish legend, Billy Connolly, the new Grand Marshal, it  will showcase worldwide pipers and drummers who'll honour the superb contribution Scots have made to the USA.

In Canada, for 2019, Tartan Day has become an annual celebration of Scottish culture and heritage, as declared by the Minister of Canadian Heritage. The day originated here in the late 1980s in Nova Scotia, with the government making it an official day.
