Sport in Scotland
Glasgow will host the Commonwealth Games in a celebration of sport, culture and community. The 23rd edition will take place across existing venues within the city centre. Around 3,000 athletes are expected to compete across 10 sports including a fully integrated para sport programme.
The Games will feature a sport programme hosted in four venues across the city. From track cycling to swimming, boxing and netball - world-class athletes will be competing right in the heart of the city.
The King's Baton Relay will connect communities across Scotland while championing sustainability, tackling plastic pollution and helping to protect our oceans for future generations.
As well as the King’s Baton Relay, the Glasgow Festival 2026 will celebrate the city’s vibrant cultural identity, sporting heritage and diverse communities and invite everyone to come together and be part of it.
