Edinburgh Film Fest programme launched

The line-up for the 70th Annual Edinburgh International Film Festival has been announced today (Wednesday 25 May).
As well as premieres of new Scottish films including Tommy’s Honour ,based on the life story of golf legend Old Tom Morris, classic Scottish films will be shown throughout the festival including Highlander and Trainspotting.
The festival will be closed with the premiere of Gillie Mackinnon’s long awaited Whisky Galore remake which features a stellar Scottish and UK cast including Iain Robertson, Gregor Fisher, James Cosmo and Eddie Izzard.

This year’s landmark 70th Edition is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the EIFF in its own right, to showcase Scotland’s screen talent and to promote our creative industries.”
Other famous Scots that will be appearing across the festival include Game of Thrones star Rose Leslie who stars alongside movie legend Ray Liotta in comedy Sticky Notes whilst Brian Cox will be in attendance for two films, comedy The Carer and Western, Forsaken.
The festival will showcase a total of 161 features from 46 countries including 22 world premieres, 5 international premieres, 17 European premieres and 85 UK premieres.
