You’re thinking about how long you are stuck in your transportation when you are working in London, New York, Beijing, Shanghai. In Edinburgh, this is a city you can walk around in half an hour. This is a wonderful place for you want to have a balanced lifestyle. I’m originally from China, the city called Chongqing.
My company, Baillie Gifford, is a global investment manager, investing in China for decades. I think the relationship between Scotland and China is getting better and better. We have the only two pandas from China to UK in Scotland. So we can guess how special that is. My family come to Scotland more than twice a year. They want to spend the whole summer here, and I gradually get more and more friends coming to say to me: “Can I visit you in Scotland?”
We have Edinburgh Festival Fringe for culture from different parts of the world. We have great universities, great food and the weather is beautiful and the people always very nice. I like to spend longer here so other than China, I think Scotland is definitely becoming my second home.
