Team Scotland will step out in style at the Opening Ceremony of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in April with its new parade uniform, created in collaboration with bespoke tartan manufacturers House of Edgar and multi-award winning Scottish fashion designer Siobhan Mackenzie.

The uniform was made public at a ceremony at the Gleneagles Hotel, with Scottish athletes Lynsey Sharp and Andrew Butchart modelling the distinctive new tartan.

The kilt was designed by young award-winning designer Siobhan Mackenzie, from the Black Isle, and woven at the House of Edgar factory in Keith, with the men’s kilts being hand made in Paisley. The Scottish team will be wearing authentic Scottish tartan, a fantastic example of the quality produced in Scotland’s fashion and textiles industries.
