Writing Scotland in Toronto
The International Festival of Authors (IFOA) takes place between 21-31 October 2009 in Toronto. This year’s IFOA will see a host of events dedicated to Scottish literature under the banner ‘Writing Scotland’, including individual Q&A’s with some of Scotland’s foremost authors and large-scale panel discussions where any number of hot topics in the nation’s literary past and present could be discussed. There will also be a range of exciting joint ventures with a number of internationally renowned Canadian authors of Scottish descent.
Featured authors are: Alan Bissett, Ron Butlin, David Byrne, Margaret Elphinstone, Murray Grigor, Jen Hadfield, Richard Holloway, Quintin Jardine, A.L Kennedy, Linden MacIntyre, Martin MacIntyre, Alistair MacLeod, Ken McGoogan, Jean McNeil, James Meek, Denise Mina, Alice Munro, Andrew O'Hagan, Ian Rankin and Eleanor Thom.
