The centrepiece of Dundee's celebrations will be a stage in City Square, featuring traditional Scottish singers and musicians, a pipe band and presenters from Radio Tay, along with a chance to sample traditional Scottish fayre.

Entertainment will also be provided at the city's two main shopping centres, Wellgate and Overgate, with Overgate also organising a Scottish Heritage day which will see retailers in traditional dress, pipers, storytellers and displays of Scottish wildlife such as Highland cattle and birds of prey.

Music, dancing and food will also feature in the celebrations for young people at The Shore, and at Dundee International Womens' Centre, where women originally from countries all around the world will celebrate the One Scotland, Many Cultures message.

Events will also be taken out into the community, with special services in churches and entertainment in senior citizens residences, while an event at Sensation Science Centre will highlight the achievements of Scottish scientists.
