Highlands to host World Orienteering Championships
The competition will be based in Inverness and will use terrain on the Moray Firth coast and in the Cairngorms National Park.
It could generate more than £2m for the local economy, according to a report by Highland Council officers.
The last championships in Scotland were held around Inverness in 1999.
