Finishing touches on tribute to comic Connolly

Acclaimed artist Andy Scott is putting the final touches to a steel mural of the 68-year-old comic which will take pride of place in the Anderston area of Glasgow, where he was born.

Sanctuary Scotland has commissioned Scott’s 20ft x 16ft creation, which will hang from the gable end of a new housing development.

The artist’s public artworks include the M8 Heavy Horse and Falkirk Helix Water Kelpies.

The new piece will overlook the Clydeside Expressway, close to the shipyards where Connolly worked as a welder.
