The AK1000 - the world's largest tidal energy turbine - is being installed off the Orkney Islands.
The AK1000 - the world's largest tidal energy turbine - is being installed at the European Marine Energy Centre in waters off the Orkney Islands.
The turbine will be tested in the energy-rich Pentland Firth, the narrow channel that separates Orkney from the Scottish mainalnd, and is widely regarded as a significant milestone towards commercial scale tidal power projects.
