Open your eyes and ears to the wonderful world of Scottish wildcats
Shrouded in the swirling mists of the Highlands, Britain’s one true super-predator lurks on the brink of extinction.
A beast of myth and legend – crofters once believed it was a man-killer – the Highland tiger, as it is known, has adorned many a clansman’s coat of arms.
Everything about the Scottish wildcat – the Cairngorms National park is one of the best places to see one – is extraordinary. Just 400 are believed to roam the barren sparseness of their mountain strongholds.
