Record-breaking sale of rare Scots whisky at auction
STV News
A special whisky celebrating the granddaughter of the Glenfiddich founder sells for nearly £47,000.
The first bottle of Glenfiddich Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve set records as the most expensive bottle of whisky ever sold at auction.
The single malt was created in honour of Janet Sheed Roberts, the granddaughter of William Grant, founder of the Glenfiddich distillery.
Mrs Roberts celebrated her 110th birthday in August and is the oldest living person in Scotland.
Only 11 bottles of the 55-year-old single malt, one to celebrate each decade of Mrs Roberts' life - will ever be released to the public, and they will be sold at auction to raise money for charity.
