Monboddo the Musical
The Scotsman
Story of the Enlightenment's most eccentric philosopher takes to the stage.
A leading figure in the Scottish Enlightenment is to be celebrated in a new musical to be premiered in Aberdeen next month.
Lord Monboddo was a High Court judge whose theories about the relationship between primates and human beings pre-dated Charles Darwin by 100 years. In another part of Monboddo's life story, his daughter Eliza had a passionate romance with Robert Burns before her early death at the age of 25.
