First Scot qualifies for Olympics

A 25-year-old sailor has become the first Scot to qualify for this year's London Olympics.

Luke Patience, from the village of Rhu on the Firth of Clyde, was confirmed as part of Team GB in London.

Patience, who has been sailing since he was seven years old, will compete in the 470 Dinghy class with English partner Stuart Bithell.

They clinched their Olympic spots by coming second in the recent world sailing championships in Australia.
