Dumfries and Galloway company wins top apprentice award
The Standard
Learning providers Minerva People Ltd lifted a top prize at Skills Development Scotland’s Modern Apprenticeship Awards.
The Dumfries firm took the learning provider award at the SQA-sponsored event, which showcases the achievements of individuals, employers and organisations that take part in the Modern Apprenticeship programme.
Bad weather prevented the Minerva team from attending the ceremony, but they were delighted to learn of their success.
Modern Apprenticeships offer those aged over 16 paid employment combined with the chance to train for jobs at craft, technician and management level. Apprentices work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills as well as training, perhaps one day a week with local providers such as colleges.
