Daily Record
The escapades of comic book heroes such as Desperate Dan, Oor Wullie and The Bash Street Kids are to be studied at a Dundee Universtiy.
The postgraduate course will encourage students at Dundee University to think critically about The Dandy, The Beano and The Broons and their relationship to society and history.
Students will be offered work placements with the city's publisher DC Thomson - known as the home of British comics.
The course is the brainchild of Dr Chris Murray, who says Scotland is famous as a pioneer of comics.
