Burns Supper on Mount Kilimanjaro
The Herald
It’s a Burns Supper that will give a team of fundraisers a taste of the high life.
A group of 20 climbers, including comedian Fred MacAuley and Michelin-starred chef Andrew Fairlie, are heading to Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro to host the world’s highest Burns Supper.
The team plan to hold a celebration as close as possible to the summit of Africa’s highest peak – complete with the traditional fare of haggis, neeps and tatties.
They hope their efforts will raise as much as £150,000 for charity Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland, which works with colleges and universities to provide scholarships for young talent.
