In a floor-length tartan gown created by Scottish designer Graeme Black, Dame Shirley Bassey stole the show at the sixth annual Scottish Fashion Awards last night.

The event, which took place at the Glasgow Science Centre, was also attended by Lulu, male supermodel David Gandy and the Prime Minister’s wife Samantha Cameron in her role as ambassador to the British Fashion Council.

Pitched as the country’s most glamorous red carpet event, the Scottish Fashion Awards includes prizes for designers, models and retailers from Scotland.

For the second year in a row, womenswear designer Jonathan Saunders scooped the designer of the year prize, which was presented to him by Mrs Cameron and the event’s founder and producer Tessa Hartmann.
