Year of Creative Scotland 2012
The year of Creative Scotland aims to build on the success of Homecoming 2009 and is part of the lead up towards the second year of Homecoming 2014.
Events will cover everything from music to drama and dance, designed to appeal to visitors and locals.

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay
Edinburgh’s Hogmanay kicks off 2012 in style with its world famous New Year celebrations. Edinburgh Hogmanay is a countdown event for the Olympic year and London 2012. For those of you who will not be in Scotland to celebrate Hogmanay, do not worry, you can join in the celebrations live by registering with Edinburgh’s Hogmanay.
Celtic Connections
Celtic Connections, the annual folk, roots and world music festival that celebrates Celtic music and its connections to culture across the globe. Celtic Connections hosts events across Glasgow, UNESCO City of Music, between January 19 and February 5, 2012.
Celtic Connections will then head to Chicago in September 2012, as the Ryder Cup takes place at the nearby Medinah Country Club.

Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art takes place every two years and showcases home grown talent alongside leading international figures. The festival highlights Glasgow arts scene at its liveliest and best with a packed programmed of events, talks, tours and exhibitions.

The Big Concert
The Big Concert in association with London 2012 Festival is a major launch event for the London 2012 festival. The Big Concert, which happens on June 21, 2012 is a midsummers night open-air concert with one of the world’s best symphony orchestras Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, against the dramatic backdrop of Stirling Castle.

Speed of Light, in partnership with Edinburgh International Festival is a fusion of sport and innovative culture bringing people together from all over the UK. The programme will climax on Arthur's Seat with a mass participation event, part of Edinburgh International Festival.
