Glasgow's Games

Glasgow will host the 2014 Commonwealth Games in succession to Delhi.

Commonwealth Games

Delhi takes the spotlight in 2010, but as soon as the XIXth Commonwealth Games end in India, the world's attention will turn to Scotland and Glasgow for the XXth Games in 2014.

After India, Scotland

In Scotland's largest city, most of the necessary infrastructure is already in place with plans well under way for a new indoor arena and velodrome on the banks of the River Clyde and an athlete's village in the east end.

Scotland has participated in every Games since 1930, accumulating (pre-Delhi) 82 gold, 94 silver and 154 bronze medals in that time, and has twice before hosted the Games, in Edinburgh in 1970 and 1986.

Glasgow 2014 will be the biggest yet - playing host to more than 6,500 athletes from 71 countries and territories.
