Drinks from Scotland

Breweries

Once home to literally hundreds of small breweries and with a hop heritage dating all the way back to 543AD, only a handful of companies survived the rationalisation and closures of the 1960s. Today, thanks to Scottish enterprise and innovation, brewery numbers are on the increase and beer drinkers are enjoying unprecedented variety.

Pure Scottish water

Not all Scottish drinks are alcoholic! Scottish mineral water is bottled from springs all over the country. Scotland has very pure sources of water because of the volcanic rocks which abound in this hilly country and plentiful rainfall. And our water has special properties according to the press with source minerals which can combat free radicals and reduce wrinkles!

Made in Scotland from...?

And who could forget one of our most famous Scottish drinks: Irn Bru. If you've haven't tasted Irn Bru you're never too old to start. A bright orange, sparkling soft drink with a unique taste, Scots are brought up drinking Irn Bru. The famous slogan "made in Scotland, from girders" has become part of the national heritage and Scotland was once the only place in the world where Coca Cola was beaten to the post for position as most popular soft drink. It cures hangovers too. Apparently.
