Book festivals
In the summer months the Scots really enjoy themselves. From huge music festivals, with some of the world’s biggest bands, to comedy, arts and book festivals there’s always something going on somewhere in Scotland during the hottest months of the year.

Edinburgh Book Fringe: Edinburgh
5 - 25 August
Edinburgh Book Fringe welcomes writers, publishers, cultural and political activists from around the world for readings and discussions. All events are free.
Inverness Book festival: Inverness
10 - 13 August
Local and nationally recognised authors return to Inverness for another scenic literary week. There are also writing workshops and whisky tasting, all overlooking the River Ness and its islands.
